Stargate

Stargate is one of my favorite sci-fi movies.  Then, a few years back, I got into watching the TV series which was very good.  Recently I have found a resource that allows me to watch every episode, in order, from season 1 and I have been doing so for the last 2 weeks when time allows.  I am just starting season 9 now.

I was talking to the guys at work about how much I have enjoyed the series and how I thought that the premise is good for an MMOG.  Then I started looking around for some background info on the series and found Stargate Worlds, which is being developed with the Unreal3.0 engine, meaning the graphics are going to be fantastic!

The game is going to follow the series to the ‘T’ complete with all the alien races that have been brought into the show.

Further, there are 2 additional Stargate movies in production and the first one will be done this spring and the second one will be done in the fall of 08.

I finished the entire series today and I can say that there’s very few shows that are worthy of the title, “Greatest” and that series is one of them.  I found out that the fanbase is so huge that despite SG-1 being done, Atlantis is still going strong.  Further, the future appears to be continuous for the Stargate world as not only are those two movies I mentioned before being completed, but there are two more movies in the works as well as a rebirth of the series.

Stargate has filled the void left by the dumbasses at Paramount that destroyed the Star Trek series and has reaped the energy and imagination of that fanbase. 

I didn’t think that the series would go on for as long as it did and actually watching the whole 10 years of shows in about 2 weeks was the most phenomenal experience I’ve ever had with a TV show.
